Have you ever been to Florence? I can only recommend it! This ancient city is one of the most magical in all of Italy, and if you’re looking for art, culture and design, there’s basically no way around it. In the middle of the 19th century, Florence was the capital of Italy for a short period of 5 years, and it has long been famous for its art scene. ‘The cradle of the Rennaisance’, it’s often called,  and in the heart of it lies a beautiful design hotel by the name of Portrait Firenze.

If you’re a reader of this blog, you know that I’m quite passionate about design hotels with a story to tell. That’s why I’m always delighted to cover properties fitting that description. Portrait Firenze is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World and offers a picturesque setting at the Ponte Vecchio in the heart of the ancient city. With only 37 rooms, the hotel stays true to its boutique hotel DNA and promotes an exclusive hotel experience that will undoubtedly make most travelers feel right at home.
The local architect, Michele Bönan, has given the hotel its unique Florentine style, where materials such as warm wood and soft cashmere sets the tone. This classic yet contemporary design hotel also offers a rooftop with beautiful views of Florence as well as a 273 m2 penthouse floor.

The in-house Caffé dell’Oro offers Italian delicacies and - of course - Italian coffee as it should be. If you’re fancying anything else during your stay here, the staff will point you in the direction of the best restaurants and cafés in Florence.

I personally can’t wait until I’m back in Florence someday - and this property will definitely be on top of my list! Portrait Firenze offers several promotions, e.g. a seasonal promotion where guests can save 20% by booking online. There’s also something special for families, for Easter and for couples looking for romance… but why don’t you have a look yourself? It’s all right here.
