Hiking in Les Gets
During our time in Les Gets, we had the pleasure of staying at La Marmotte, a four-star, family-owned hotel, which has been in the same family for generations. While La Marmotte is not the village’s most luxurious hotel (if luxury is what you’re looking for), it’s certainly the most authentic and traditional while still keeping up a certain standard. Located literally at the foot of the slopes, it’s the ideal place to stay whether you’re skiing or hiking, but the best part is the cosy interior (which couldn’t possibly be more alpine-like) and the lovely spa area with a large pool, jacuzzi, sauna and relaxation area. There’s also a small wellness area for treatments.
Hotel La Marmotte houses a selection of Traditional Rooms, Superior Rooms and Suites, where of the largest fit from 4-7 people; an ideal solution for families traveling together, or couples who prefer additional space. Additionally, there are four different restaurants offering anything from brasserie food to fine dining delicacies. La Pivotte specializes in regional specialities and cheeses from Savoie while La Piste Noire serves gourmet food based on local produce.
