There’s no better (and quicker) way to get under the skin of a new culture, than by getting to know their eating habits. With this in mind, I decided to explore my own city with DuGlemmerDetAldrig - a Danish company specialized in offering e.g. food and wellness experiences for anyone craving new adventures. Here’s why you should go too.

You think you know your own city until someone takes you hand and introduces you to a whole new side of it, be it gastronomical or neighborhood-wise. So filled with high expectations (and an empty stomach), I signed up for a Food Tour in the streets of Copenhagen with DuGlemmerDetAldrig. The tour itself was conducted by Foods of Copenhagen - a super cool new concept allowing tourists and locals alike to eat their way through Copenhagen.
A foodie’s paradise
At exactly 11AM on a sunny saturday afternoon, 8 people met in the heart of the city with tour guide Cindie, ready to be gastronomical adventurers for 4 hours. The trip took us through the city center plus some urban neighborhoods, which tourists are not always aware of. But the best part was all the lovely Danish delicacies, which we got to taste: the national dish of smørrebrød (open-faced sandwiches) with schnapps, gourmet hot dogs, organic cheeses, the city’s best chocolate covered marshmallows, beer from Mikkeller, porridge (from the world’s first and only porridge bar), homemade toffees, licorice and much more.
The food tour is a perfect adventure for any foodie craving to taste a bite of Copenhagen. It’s provided through DuGlemmerDetAldrig several times a month. For further information and price info, check the website.
