For more than 60 years Elizabeth Arden has provided women from all over the world with indulgence through beauty products, makeup and skin care. Now it’s also possible to experience a full wellness treatment in one of the many day spa’s – a concept I can fully approve! Here’s my review.
Exclusively in Copenhagen
While the ‘Red Door’ spa is exclusively located in North America, Elizabeth Arden has chosen Copenhagen (Denmark) as a test market to see how people will meet the concept in Europe. The brach in Copenhagen is located in the historical department store of Magasin (equivalent to Harrod’s in London and Bloomingdale’s in New York), and it’s perfectly located for a ‘lunch facial’ or even a full body treatment after a hard day’s work.
I have been an ardent advocate for day spa’s for a long time (who doesn’t need a little everyday luxury now and then?!) and because of this I was excited to visit the brand new Elizabeth Arden spa in Copenhagen!
Magasin is bustling with people from early in the morning till late in the evening, and it’s hard to believe you can even find relaxation in here. For this reason it was pure bliss to step inside of the small yet placid spa cubicle located just next to the counter. A mini-spa constructed to add a bit of luxury into the lives of business people and who else, who would step by on a regular Tuesday. And, in my mind, business people are truly the ideal clientele here, since all treatments fit perfectly with busy schedules. Most treatments lasts no more than 1 hour.
The Ultimate Arden Facial
The treatment I was going to experience wasn’t just any treatment, though, but the ‘Ultimate Arden Facial’. So what does it include? A profound facial combined with a hot stone massage of shoulders and décolleté to provide the ultimate relaxation. All this followed up by a Microdermabrasion in shape of a diamond-peeling and a collagen mask for eyes, face and décolleté to reduce fine lines, wrinkles and discoloration. Finally I received a hand massage and a brief massage of the scalp.
Now, it might sound like an extensive treatment and a bit too much for an average weekday, but the whole thing took exactly 75 minutes. Afterwards the friendly spa therapist introduced me to some of the latest makeup from Elizabeth Arden including the beautiful Autumn collection! I even got to try out a subtle day look with my favorite colors.
If you happen to find yourself either in New York or Copenhagen, the ‘Red Door’ spa is definitely worth a visit! Try to squeeze in time for a facial, an oxygen treatment or even the ‘Ultimate Arden Facial’, which I had. It’s the perfect ‘luxury on the go’!
