Wellness at Adlon Hotel Kempinski, Berlin

Next time you’re in Berlin, don’t miss out on the beautiful spa at Adlon Hotel Kempinski! I went by for a HydraFacial treatment and came home with probably the cleanest skin I’ve had for ages. Why? Read all about it below.

Modern anti-aging

Founded in 1897, Kempinski Hotels is the oldest luxury hotel group in Europe. Add to that one of the most luxurious hotels in Germany, Adlon Hotel, and you’ll have Adlon Hotel Kempinski – a perfect combination of joie de vivre and comfort. One of my favorite things about the hotel is the spa, which offers a broad range of treatments (massages, facials and body treatments) and a tranquil atmosphere allowing even the most stressed-out guest to unwind completely. During my visit I had the pleasure of receiving one of their newest treatments; a HydraFacial MD® – an advanced medical skincare treatment working wonders for tired, dull and oily skin.

The treatment began with my spa therapist giving me thorough information of the HydraFacial system. Prior to that I had been asked to fill out a record in order for the therapist to know my situation better; did I have any allergies? Was I taking any medicine? Soon after this I was served a cup of tea and the treatment could finally begin.
I was anxious to see the results. The HydraFacial promised beautiful and brighter looking skin in just one hour, but as with most other treatments, I was a bit skeptical. My spa therapist claimed, that this was the best anti-aging treatment available, and with that in mind I could relax for the next 60 minutes. As complicated it might seem for a novice like me to explain the treatment in details, it’s surely easy to say that the combination of soothing treatments and medical technology certainly works. In between, LED light therapy is conducted to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, enlarged pores and hyper pigmentation. The skin is enriched with hydrating hyaluronic acid and last, but not least, a peeling removes the last impurities.

Bright and even skin

At the end of the treatment I could happily state that my skin felt – and looked – brighter and more even than I had done for ages. There’s no doubt that these kind of treatments should be maintained (it’s possible to purchase a bi-annual or annual membership in the spa), but even after one time, I could see a clear difference. Before I left, the spa therapist showed me a reservoir, where the ‘impurities’ from my skin had ended up. Beware, this is not for the faint hearted, but it’s definitely an eye-opener for how much pollution we subject our skin too.

The HydraFacial treatments are available in the spas of Adlon Hotel Kempinski in Berlin and Kempinski Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Munich. For more information click here.
